You can see your breath when it is cold outside

This is because your breath is reasonably warm and humid with invisible water vapour as a large component of the gas. When warm moist air meets the cool air outside the body, it causes the invisible water vapour to condense and form the cloud that you see. The relative humidity, which depends on water content and temperature, goes to 100 per cent. As the breath goes farther from the person's face, the water content dilutes and the relative humidity goes down and the droplets go back into vapour form.
